Investing in art for your home or office is an investment in your personal environment first. Art contributes a great deal to the atmosphere you live in. In the case of art it isn't solely the subject of the art itself.

One can invest a relatively small amount in a poster print reproduction of a Picasso. If you display it in the often available inexpensive mass produced frame it will look like a framed poster.

One can invest in a Picasso poster print and then invest in a professional frame. Unless your extremely wealthy no one would expect you to own an original Picasso so a print would be most acceptable. The poster print may be a temporary viable alternative. If you know anyone who collects say movie posters, you will know they go to great effort to prevent the rapid fading and the rapid yellowing that occurs. If you are displaying what is clearly a poster, say a movie poster, the fading and yellowing is something one would expect to see. In the case of a Picasso print the fading and yellowing of a poster is not. In a matter of just a few months your Picasso print may look like an aging poster in maybe an expensive frame.

December 29, 2007 - Cleveland, Ohio - DOUGLAS Art Prints® is pleased to announce another new contemporary art print, this one titled simply "amy". This print is in fact another DOUGLAS Art Prints® nude but this one is so subtle as to not be recognized as a nude. This print is again in stark black and white but with the twist of a double exposure style added in grey.

This print, as are all of our prints, is 100% art gallery archival quality. They will not yellow or fade for over 100 years if displayed properly. The prints are all produced at the time of the order and each print is hand signed and numbered by Douglas.

December 20, 2007 - Cleveland, Ohio - Turning a page. The last quarter of 2007 has been a time of massive change at DOUGLASArtPrints.com as well as our sister web site DOUGLASArt.com. On August 29 we completed our move to our own Flash Streaming server. Since then we have completed a major redesign of both of our web sites. Our home pages are now virtually all streaming for speed. Now we are pleased to announce that we have completed loading all of our prints on our new online catalog on both web sites. No more thumbnails. No more rolling your cursor over anything to see a larger view. Now you simply turn the pages just like a real paper catalog.

We are extremely pleased to announce that the DOUGLAS Art Prints® Online Prints Catalog is now on line. We are excited to introduce our virtual catalog technology with pages that turn like a real catalog.

Actually this is only partially complete. We still have somewhere near a hundred more pages/prints to add but… We were so pleased with this new feature. We were anxious to eliminate our less than stellar gallery pages as well as the search gallery pages. We were hoping that the new catalog would serve to replace these less than quality pages and we believe it does. Visitors can now flip through the catalog simply by pushing the left or right arrow keys on their keyboard. The catalog index lists our prints by title in alphabetical order. We were so pleased by the catalog that we went live even before we had all of our prints loaded.

This newest contemporary art print I have done is of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas which is why I titled it "principles". If you have read his book My Grandfathers Son you will have learned that this man rose to his position totally based on having strong and very basic core principles. Principles he learned from his grandfather. Do your best with what God gave you and don't make excuses. It is that simple.

I did this print because, especially after reading his book, I find Clarence Thomas, the man, a genuine inspiration. There was no reason whatsoever that Clarence Thomas the boy should have ever become who we know now as Clarence Thomas the man except for the failure of his mother necessitating him having to go live with his grandfather. What he learned from his grandfather wasn't that if he worked hard he could be a lawyer or a Supreme Court Justice. It was simply to take what God gave you, make the best of it and don't make excuses.

That is what I wanted to express in my new print "principles".

DOUGLAS Art Prints® is pleased to announce another new contemporary art print, baby grand. A baby grand piano. In fact the same baby grand piano that I did in a water color style in my print piano 4. As much as I enjoy the color version my proclivity for strong black and white caused me to create this new version.
