August 5,2008 0 Cleveland, Ohio - Today the Associated Press reported  11 charged in connection with credit card fraud.  "hacking of nine major retailers and the theft and sale of more than 41 million credit and debit card numbers", the report stated.  DOUGLAS Art Prints® wants to again let our customers know this can not happen to them.

"My customers are too important not to do everything possible not to let that happen to them," Douglas, the president of DOUGLAS Art Prints® said.  "I can't help but wonder how many small retailers are hacked but it doesn't make the news. I have invested time and money to make sure that can't happen to my customers."

DOUGLAS Art Prints® never has or stores any customer credit card information on any of their servers.  All of our customer credit card and personal information are entered on Nova Information Systems servers.
February 24, 2008 - Cleveland, Ohio - Does the "HTTPS" designation and certification really provide genuine security for your credit card information?  DOUGLAS Art Prints® recent change to using the NOVA Information Systems servers and credit card processing was done against some "expert" advice but was the exact right thing to do for the security of customers credit card information.  HTTPS does not mean your credit card information is safe from hackers.

In researching our intended improvements in our credit card processing one option was for us to obtain an "HTTPS" certificate which would allow us to obtain our customers credit card information right on our own servers and then transmit that information "encrypted" to the merchant account servers for approval of the amount of the sale.  Our other option was to transfer our customers to the NOVA Information Systems secure servers where all of the credit card information would be acquired and the amount approved.  We were told by "experts" at places like Network Solutions that customers "do not like" to be transfered to another server.  This very well may be true but when it came to real security and liability we thought otherwise.  A recent story on Forbes.com, Web 3.0: What's Next After What's Next, made us realize just how right we were.
January 11, 2008 - Cleveland, Ohio - In an update to our behind the scenes customer service, DOUGLAS Art Prints® made a major improvement to how our credit card transactions are handled.  We moved everything to Nova Information Systems, an international credit card processor serving major international banks, financial institutions and businesses.  Every piece of our customers credit card transactions in fact are now done on the Nova Information Systems network. Our customers have zero risk of having their credit card information stolen by hackers attacking our servers.  None.  Zero.

Our customers and repeat visitors to our web site has seen many changes over the last few months from a total redesign to the addition of streaming technology.  With dozens of companies offering credit card processing for web sites we did research with security the key.  Our research led us to Nova with their experience and reputation with banks and financial institutions.  Our second decision was wether or not to have secure pages on our web site for entry of secure credit card information.  By doing so we could have continued our design theme all of the way through the transaction.  We also knew that by doing that we would have this information on our servers possibly inviting hackers.  Although our credit card and personal information entry page would have followed our design it was crystal clear that the people at Nova were far better experts at preventing hackers being successful.  We chose the Nova network for the entire secure portion of our customers transactions.

There are dozens of credit card processing companies.  We selected Nova and chose to use the Nova Network for your entire credit card transaction because your security is as important to us as it is you.
